What to Expect

Our approach to vision care is simple. We provide one-on-one individualized care, so we understand your vision needs and what steps to take to ensure you have strong eyes with clear vision.

When visiting our eye doctor, you can expect our optometrist to do a full exam, whether it is for an adult or for a children's eye exam, so recommendations can be made regarding vision care.

About Children's Myopia

Myopia, also referred to as nearsightedness, affects the ability to see things clearly in the distance. Seeing objects up close is not affected by myopia.

Vision issues have two classifications - non-refractive error and refractive error. Myopia is considered to be a refractive error. According to an article from Boston Children's Hospital, 20% of children are affected by myopia. If the eyes of a child with myopia do not receive proper treatment, the eye(s) weaken, and clarity of vision declines.

About Myopia Management and Myopia Treatment

Children's myopia control is possible with help from MiSight and soft contact lenses. These 1-day lenses are FDA-approved and were designed for children between the ages of 8 and 12 years old.

These specially designed lenses are a viable way for myopia treatment to be in place and serve as a deterrent by slowing down the progress of the disease. Myopia management and treatment is necessary to help reduce the effect the disease has on a child's vision and overall eye health.
